Therapy
HOLISTIC & STRENGTH BASED
At Kaleidoscope, therapy is delivered by Traciy Fogarty. Traciy’s practice is strength based, meaning that she works with clients to discover their skills, talents and experiences that can be used as a launching point to tackle issues causing hardship in the individual’s life. Her framework is holistic, and considers the person’s emotional and psychological makeup, their past and present experiences as well as societal and environmental factors that can impact their well-being.
Working in collaboration with you…
Traciy works with her clients to identify what they would like to change in their lives and the best way to work towards these goals. She works collaboratively with her clients, supporting them to address their difficulties and work towards the person that they want to be. Often this includes addressing past beliefs about themselves that are impacting on them in the present. This enables old beliefs and old patterns of behaviour to be understood and moved on from.
Working compassionately with you…
Traciy works with people in a warm and supportive way to help them decide what therapy and what strategies are most suitable to them. Traciy practices LGBTQ+ affirmative therapy. This means that she honours how individuals self-identify and values diversity in gender, sexuality and relationships, including non-traditional relationships.
Traciy offers therapy at our Hove and Worthing offices and online. Session costs are £70 per 50 minute session. Sessions which are not cancelled more than 24 hours in advance will be charged at full rate.

Eye Movement Desensitisation and Reprocessing (EMDR)
A therapy for trauma, phobias, and grief, that helps people to resolve negative beliefs about themselves or the world into more positive beliefs by releasing blocked physical sensations and memories using bilateral movements that facilitate reprocessing difficult memories.
Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT)
Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) core messages is to accept what is out of your personal control, and commit to action that improves and enriches your life.
A key component of ACT is to helping clarify what is truly important and meaningful to you – i.e your values – then use that knowledge to guide, inspire and motivate you to change your life for the better.
Ego State Work
When somebody is having difficulties with internal conflicts, and different parts of themselves are disagreeing, competing or having arguments, it can be helpful to map out those different parts, and teach them to communicate in more helpful ways.
Internal Family Systems (IFS)
Internal Family Systems therapy emphasises the natural multiplicity of the mind. The grounding assumption is that there are no bad parts, only parts forced into bad roles. When a client learns how to access Self, they can then heal their wounded parts. This allows the person to become more Self-led. The natural side effect of this healing is a reduction in problematic or symptomatic behaviour.
In IFS you work with a therapist to identify and understand the specific parts that make up your internal mental system. Once you identify these parts, the therapist will help you acknowledge your feelings about these suppressed emotions, learn how to release these feelings so you are freer to address the actual problem, and ultimately find more positive ways to manage conflicts on your own.
